The Crossways Care Services website homepage showing their care services in Lincolnshire

The problem

Crossways Care Services is a CQC-registered provider in Lincolnshire, supporting adults with personal care, dementia care and physical disability care. Families choosing care research carefully, and the website is usually the first thing they judge.

The site had to do two very different jobs at once: reassure a family member making a difficult decision, and persuade a good carer to apply for a job. Most care websites do neither well, because they are built from the same cold corporate templates as everything else.

It also had to take enquiries reliably. A missed enquiry in this sector is not a lost sale, it is a family who needed help and did not hear back.

What we built

We designed the site warm and light, around photography and plain language rather than stock corporate imagery, because the person reading it is choosing care for someone they love.

Families can see exactly what care is offered and reach a real person quickly. Carers get a dedicated recruitment route with a simple application form, because care providers live and die by recruitment.

Every form submission is stored in a database first and then emailed, with spam protection that does not make genuine visitors jump through hoops. The site includes the accessibility basics most sites skip: a skip-to-content link, full keyboard navigation and readable contrast throughout.

Features and benefits

  • Care service pages written in plain language for families, not commissioners
  • A dedicated carers' recruitment section with a simple application form
  • Enquiries stored in a database before email, so nothing is lost
  • Accessibility built in: keyboard navigation, contrast, skip links
  • A privacy notice and consent handling appropriate for a care setting

How it works

  1. A family member or prospective carer finds the site through local search or the CQC listing.
  2. Service pages answer the questions families actually ask before they will pick up the phone.
  3. Enquiries and applications are captured, stored and confirmed automatically.
  4. The Crossways team follows up, with the full detail of the enquiry in front of them.

Technical foundation

A custom-built website hosted in UK and European data centres, with database-backed form handling, server-side validation and spam protection.
